Matt Molloy's | Sat Oct 26th 7.30pm
Westport’s acclaimed Crooked Trad fuse traditional jigs and reels with well-known blues, rock, folk and Irish punk songs to create electrifying contemporary Celtic music.
Catherine O'Driscoll (fiddle, vocals) and Seán McGuire (flute, whistle, vocals) come from a traditional music background; Mark Gaffney (guitar, vocals) is a blues and jazz veteran; and Mick Kelly (drums, percussion, vocals) was once immersed in the indie/rock scene. By drawing on their strengths and fusing their different genres, the band has created their very own exciting sound. Their harmonies are pretty impressive too!
Renowned for their charged live performances, this gig at Matt Molloy’s is one not to be missed. Get there early to avoid disappointment – Crooked Trad gigs are always full.
