Pete Williams (Dexys Midnight Runners)

Town Hall Theatre, Friday 26th Oct, 10.30pm

‘He tells terrific stories set to beautiful melodies sung with passion, charisma and heartfelt honesty’ – Imelda May

Dig out your denim dungarees and flat caps, and head over to Westport Town Hall to catch Dexys Midnight Runners founding member Pete Williams. Between on-off stints as Kevin Rowland’s vocal foil in Dexys, Williams continues to paddle his own career canoe – to the sound of critics’ loud applause. Drawing comparisons with Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney and Prefab Sprout’s Paddy McAloon, Williams was recently praised by Classic Rock Magazine for his ability to ‘make magic of the mundane, to find shades of sublimity from the humdrum’. His solo third album, H.O.L.L.A.N.D., which stands for Hope Our Love Lasts And Never Dies, was officially released in July.
