What to expect: Meet at Becca’s Bakery on Peter’s Street at 2.30pm for a roaming open-mic afternoon with poet and dramatist, Terry McDonagh who will read poems connected to location and invite you to read as well.
Bring a poem, a yarn or just yourself. We will visit, a bakery, a street corner, a hardware shop, a butcher, a bookshop. All ages and stages of life are welcome to take part in a fun event lasting about 90 minute.
Come along, read a poem, tell a story, sing a song or simply to be part of an exciting Walkabout event.

Terry McDonagh, poet, translator and dramatist, taught creative writing at Hamburg University and was Drama Director at I S Hamburg. He’s published eleven poetry collections, letters, drama, prose and poetry for young people. His work has been translated into German and Indonesian. His most recent collection, ‘Fourth Floor Flat’ – Arlen House 2018. He returned to Mayo in 2019.
