12:30pm Beth Moran - Handweaving

2pm  June Bourke - Yarn Spinning

3:30pm Louise Wilde - Woodturning

June Bourke

"On my farm near Westport I keep Jacob, Suffolk and Texel sheep. After the sheep are shorn I spin the wool, dye it using natural dyes and hand knit garments.

Knitting wool/yarn, children’s and adult’s clothes are individually designed and each item is hand knit. The vibrant colours come from local plants; onion skins, gorse, ragwort to name a few.

Everything I use comes from nature including my inspiration."

Beth Moran lives on Clare Island and has been weaving for over 30 years.

"I work in a variety of materials ranging from my own sheep’s wool, homespun and naturally dyed to fine linen and silk. I like to think of my work as being multifunctional and for that reason hate to define its purpose.

For the summer season I have an open workshop and showroom where people can view work in progress."

Louise Wilde

"I’m Lou and I’m a woodturner. I’ve learnt a lot in the few years that I’ve been turning. I make things with wood on a lathe, which I also like to decorate and embellish by carving and painting. I’ll be demonstrating how I make some festive fun decorations. "
