Clew Bay Folk Club Westival Special

Clew Bay Folk Club was set up five years ago by local musicians Tim Rogers and Tony Reidy. Tired of playing in noisy pubs, Tim and Tony wanted to create a platform for people to play where the emphasis is on the music rather than boozy socialising. “We gather monthly and share songs and verse around an agreed theme. It’s lively and informal ... everyone is welcome and everyone shows respect and support for one another,” Tim Rogers explains.

The club’s motto? ‘Not a gig. Not a session. A space to play and to listen.' Essentially, it’s an open mic with the people of Westport. And sure, you never know who might show up!
