Cassiopeia Winds bring the rich colours and textures of the wind quintet to Westival in a programme that promises to delight and surprise. Formed in 2010 by five friends with a shared passion for wind music, the ensemble features some of Ireland’s finest players from the National Symphony Orchestra and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

Known for their engaging introductions and infectious enthusiasm, Cassiopeia draw audiences in so they feel almost part of the group themselves. Their repertoire ranges from the great 19th-century works to bold contemporary compositions, including pieces specially written for them by Irish composers such as John Buckley, Jonathan Nangle, Adele O’Dwyer and Raymond Deane.

With a reputation for adventurous programming and collaborations with artists like Finghin Collins, ConTempo Quartet, and Lise de la Salle, Cassiopeia Winds have become one of Ireland’s most dynamic chamber ensembles. Expect an evening of originality, energy, and exquisite musicianship in the intimate setting of Grove House.
