Come and experience Paul Soye and his recently published Novel “Two Lives” performed as a short play adaptation at Tertulia Bookshop by actors Eithne McGreal and Matthew l’Argent. “Two Lives” tells the story of two people – Gavigan and Natasha – who both had challenging upbringings. Set largely in Mayo at the time of the Celtic Tiger crash, it is a story of their efforts to overcome adversity. Can they succeed?
Paul Soye's debut novel The Boy in The Gap was published by Liberties Press. He is the author of the plays Cherished, and The Birdcage, which won the Esso New Play Award at the National Drama Festival in 1996. In 2002 he was short-listed for the BBC’s Tony Doyle
Award. His play In Irons was broadcast on RTE’s Sunday Playhouse.
A retired Social Worker, Paul brings his life experience and understanding of human
behaviour to bear in his creation and development of complex, believable characters. Clear
that his story, and its characters are completely fictitious, he depicts the courage and resilience of people in adversity. Paul lives in County Mayo and enjoys volunteering as a mentor with Fighting Words.
