Resonant Vessels

Old Dunnes Stores Building October 22nd - 27th

Opening Wednesday 22nd of October at 7.30pm

Resonant Vessels brings together twenty sculptural teapots by Westport
artists Linda Mulloy and Lou Wilde, where turned and carved wood meets
fused glass in a dance of light, grain, colour, and form. Spouts twist
into impossible curves, handles drift free of gravity, and glowing glass
seems to breathe through carved timber. Each piece begins with the
familiar silhouette of the teapot but slips into the playful, surreal,
and unexpected.

At the heart of the exhibition is the teapot as a vessel of meaning. In
Irish culture, to offer tea is to offer connection—a pause, a welcome,
a moment shared. Here, that everyday gesture becomes something bold and
architectural, a reimagining of function into fantasy, balance into
surprise. These works speak in the language of ritual, but with accents
of wonder and delight.

Linda Mulloy, a glass artist captivated by colour and shifting light,
and Lou Wilde, a wood artist whose practice is rooted in music, nature,
and curiosity, move beyond the boundaries of their chosen media in this
collaboration. Together they invite us to see the ordinary anew; an
object of daily life transformed into a vessel for imagination.
