It's hard to fit in when you're an artist, you don't seem to fit into any box. I've been an artist all my life, painting and drawing, I wasn't much good at anything else. I love painting portraits and landscapes. I have lived in the countryside for most of my life and this has influenced my paintings. I love mountains and bright colours also portrait painting. I recently finished an art and design course at ATU Galway. My favourite artists are Lucian Freud, Jenny Saville, Frank Spenser, Edward Hopper, Edouard Vuilliard, van Gogh, Michelangelo, Richard Dibenkorn and Paula Rego. I like their use of colour and generous swathes of paint also their skill at drawing and the story they tell in their paintings.
