Western Front Studios

For the fourth year running, Brian and Emer Durcan of Western Front Studios return to Westival to celebrate filmmaking from the West of Ireland. This year’s two-hour programme will showcase some of their newest projects, including Collision and Horseback, both filmed in Westport with Mayo-based crews and featuring talented local performers alongside established Irish actors, including Hilda Faye, along with other projects produced by Western Front Studios. They are also delighted to welcome Croia McDermott, who will screen her first short film, Macha, as part of the programme.

The films will be screened in the W Cinema and followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers, giving audiences the opportunity to hear about the making of the films, meet some of the people behind them and ask your own questions.
